TakeSmith Support
TakeSmith helps you turn selected videos and Live Photo motion moments into saved still-export projects, Best Moments, polished stills, action cards, capture cards, and metadata-safe exports.
Getting started
Open TakeSmith, tap Create Project, and choose a video or Live Photo from the Apple Photos picker. TakeSmith creates a project package from the media you selected so you can return to your chosen moment, export settings, metadata mode, and export history.
Projects and iCloud
TakeSmith stores project packages in your Apple iCloud storage when iCloud is available. If iCloud is unavailable, the app uses local app storage as a fallback. On devices signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud available, iCloud-backed project packages can return after deleting and reinstalling the app. Still-image exports are saved to Photos only when you choose to save them.
Photo library access
TakeSmith asks for Photos access only so you can choose source media and save exports you create. The app does not scan your library in the background.
Metadata controls
Preview Export lets you choose how much metadata to include:
- Preserve keeps supported capture metadata when available.
- Social Safe removes embedded location metadata while preserving safer date and camera details when available.
- No Metadata saves without embedded capture metadata.

TakeSmith 1.0 does not include subscriptions or in-app purchases.
