TakeSmith Privacy Policy

Information the app handles

TakeSmith works with videos and Live Photo motion moments you choose through Apple system pickers. The selected media is processed on device for project creation, frame selection, Best Moments, preview, export rendering, and metadata controls.

The app does not require an account. TakeSmith 1.0 does not include advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, tracking SDKs, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.

Photo library access

TakeSmith asks for Photos access only to let you choose source media and save still-image exports you create. The app does not scan your photo library in the background. Exports are saved to Photos only when you choose to save them.

Project storage

TakeSmith stores project packages in your Apple iCloud storage when iCloud is available. Project packages can include app-created copies of selected source media, thumbnails, project settings, metadata sidecars, Best Moments data, and export history needed to reopen your work.

If iCloud is unavailable, TakeSmith uses local app storage as a fallback. Apple iCloud storage is controlled by your Apple ID, iCloud settings, and Apple privacy practices.

Metadata and location

TakeSmith may read metadata from selected media so it can show capture details, source dimensions, HDR/dynamic-range information, date, camera, lens, and location availability when present.

Preview Export lets you choose Preserve, Social Safe, or No Metadata. Social Safe is designed to remove embedded location metadata while preserving safer date and camera details when available.

Network and third parties

TakeSmith does not upload selected media to third-party AI, analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Project package storage uses Apple iCloud when available.

The public website is hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process limited technical data, such as IP address, browser and device information, and request details, to deliver and secure the site and measure basic traffic. TakeSmith does not use this information to track you across apps or websites.

Support requests

If you email support, the email address and information you include are used to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue. Do not send private media unless support specifically asks for a diagnostic example and you choose to share it.

Retention and deletion

Project packages are stored in your Apple iCloud storage when available or in local app storage when iCloud is unavailable. You can delete projects in the app. You can also manage iCloud storage through Apple system settings.

Security

TakeSmith uses Apple platform storage, Photos, and iCloud mechanisms. Keep your device, Apple ID, and iCloud account protected with a strong passcode and account security settings.
